  • I erroneously purchased the yearly subscription but got refunded by the amazing Apple support team.

I wanted to try the Tom Morello guitar class. I don’t particularly like his style but he is a professional guitarist and, although his style is so very different, I have learned some things. Since I paid for a year I was looking for some more classes in most but everything was by washed out artists or styles I would normally listen to like rap/hop hop/ beat making etc. If you are into these new music styles you may find value in Masterclass and it is cheap after all. Me however, tried the St. Vincent class about songwriting and all she was talking about was fears and self judgement and imposter syndrome etc, so I gave up after 3 videos.
  • Content is fine but app and website need a lot of work

I keep getting connection failed on the app and website on different devices with different high speed networks. Recommend to stay away until this is fixed
  • Can’t access receipt or billing settings on iPhone

On mobile all website links and email links deep link back to the mobile app. The mobile app does not support viewing receipts, payment information, or managing billing subscriptions. Tried deleting the app to see if deep links would work for safari but they take me to the App Store to download the app again.
  • Sketchy billing

Billing practices are predatory. They require a gifted subscription to signup with the giftee including their card. Then upon the one year mark, but gifted and giftee are charged for the next year. The thought behind it from their customer service, “makes it easier for the [giftee] the next year upon a renewal ‘decision’”. What if they didn’t want it, and why would the gifter want it if they bought it as a gift subscription? Lots of incredible people and talent on this thing, but wow was this was frustrating.
  • Restrictions on viewing are absurd

Content access varies depending on device you view or. I can only watch “sessions” on limited devices. Doesn’t even show up in my Apple TV, where I watch the content. They’ve somehow managed to work it out with apple where I can’t even use my screen mirroring to view content via my Apple TV. As a paying customer, I should be able to watch how I want. Your DRM does nothing but frustrate your paying customers, and I will never pay for this service again. Overpriced, and limiting how paying subscribers can watch what they paid for. Why make it easy for your customers to use your product, when you can frustrate them with absurd restrictions on their own devices?
  • Used to be better, Constant problems now.

App is garbage, much worse than it used to be. Content is also garbage with exceptions that aren’t worth the price. Get a free Guest Pass multiple times and keep using those to watch the one or two useful classes if you must, but don’t waste your money here.
  • Good content, glitchy technology

The flow of moving between episodes and shows is glitchy. The user interface is not intuitive. It would be easier to listen to the content on the Apple podcast app since this app is cumbersome to use.
  • Wonderful programming full of insights on interesting subjects

I love MasterClass. I listen to the courses when I’m doing household chores but often I just want to sit down and watch because I become so engaged.
  • Most useful and diverse app ever

No review is needed; the title is both review and in the title.
  • So lame that you have to be connected to Wifi to download classes.

We live in world where data is everywhere and direction to not connect to public Wifi. The product managers at MasterClass need to consider this and allow folks to use their data if needed for the download.
